Meet Julie

HI! I am the founder and principal designer at Emerald Avenue Interiors. I believe we should feel comfortable in our own homes. Our homes are an expression of ourselves. We can all have a beautiful home that speaks to our own style and lifestyle.

I have been in the industry since 1992. I started out by working with a drapery workroom. I then went on to owning and operating my own drapery workroom until 2001. When my youngest started crawling and picking up straight pins, I decided it was time to evolve. I still love fabrics! I am often inspired to design a whole room by one fabric pattern or texture. I have always loved creating beautiful spaces. I decided to finish my education in Interior Design, and have been working as an interior designer since 2010.

I love working with clients, and our contractors, to solve design issues, elevate spaces, and complete each space with beautiful art, fabrics and decor. I pride myself in spatial planning. I love re-models. I work well with builders and contractors. I have a serious love of building and design! I have spent years learning my industry and project management.

I know home projects can be daunting. What I bring to the table is the experience to walk you through your project.

I cannot introduce myself without including my family. They are truly what is most important to me. I came from a large family, and am the mother of 4 children. My children are all grown. I have 4 wonderful bonus kids and 4 grandchildren. My husband and I love traveling to visit our kids, and spending lots of time with the locals. My sister works alongside me in design, and my daughter plans to go back to school to get her design degree. Also, I am pretty sure I inherited my love of all things beautiful from my mother.
